I’m taking part in a course called the ‘Heart of Money’ with teacher Mark Silver who I cherish greatly, and who taught a special session at the inaugural Wealthy Thought Leader event. In class, he invited me to let my heart drink…
This phrase nourished me so much, I wanted to share it with you and help spread the invitation far and wide:
In all the teaching, building, creating and go-go-ing that you do, taking a moment now, to proverbially sip from your heart, of a great bowl of beautiful broth…is one of the best things you can do. For you. For your to do list. To be present for your clients. For the work.
Does just a sip feel like heaven on earth, filled with relief and joy, as you think of your heart drinking?
How about another sip?
Regular ‘drinking in’ of what feeds you, whether that is an energetic or vibrational thing, or a more pragmatic reading of a book, reaching out to supportive people around you. Or, just taking time to do nothing but breathe in deeply.
To the degree that you give and create for a living, you will be an even better version of you (and your work an even better version of it) if you make a habit of drink – from your heart – deeply and regularly.
It’s what I thirst for, two weeks before the next Wealthy Thought Leader event May 26, 27 and 28.
In fact, at this juncture, I’m fond of coaching clients saying ‘You may think you have a million things to do. Worksheets to finish. Registration to giddy-up. Team to delegate to. It feels like you’re holding 3 weddings at once. But here is the most important thing you can do right now.
Rest.
Rest.
Just rest.
You and I, right now, if we were to tell the truth to each other, would admit: we are chronically under-rested.
Let’s rest a bit together in just sharing this email, shall we? I really hope you will, as it’s what I’m doing – taking precious sips of rest – every day for the next 2 weeks.…
In another turn of phrase that I love lately, I like to say that as forward-thinking business owners:
“The buck doesn’t just stop with you… it starts with you.”
Nothing will happen if you don’t initiate something. Not least – no money will happen.
Initiating something, even when it feels like the immaculate conception (a miracle!) sometimes, creating something from nothing? It’s your job. In that way, you are, truly, like God. “Business owners are like God… did she really say that?” (I hear you asking yourself.)
Well yes, I did. Whatever form God takes to you, being a business owner puts the act of creating something from nothing into your hands.
You wouldn’t drive a car while tired or intoxicated…why would you run your business while overtired?
Today happens to also be the last day we’ll be offering in-person seating for said Wealthy Thought Leader event. We have a handful of seats remaining, and if they don’t fill, well, there will be extra elbow room for even better networking. On the other hand, if one of the seats has felt like it has your name on it, this would be the moment to reconnect, take a warm sip of broth while deciding for sure, and registering.
Like Mark Silver did last year, I know each of our speakers is bringing a very special message, designed to go deep, and bring your very best work forward in a meaningful, moneyful way:
Jennifer Lee – Bestselling Author of Right Brain Business Plan – will share how she created a ‘Video-Summit’ instead of a ‘Tele-Summit’ and grew her list and cash flow. (Then we’ll explore how you can too.)
Carol Roth – Bestselling Author of The Entrepreneur Equation and raiser of over a billion dollars in capital – will be sharing why and how to ‘mature’ your business so it’s not just all about cash flow, and perhaps prepare to sell your business. (But only if you want.)
Lissa Boles – creator of the Soul Map – will speak at a meta-level about the bigger purpose of entrepreneurship. (Yes , there is one!)
Elizabeth Marshall – infamous hostess of Author Teleseminars and coach to too many renowned messengers to list here – will present an original keynote about the importance of staying true to your work (and not – ever, even when you’re sorely tempted – give up.)
Dr. Gina Hiatt – inventor of Finish Agent productivity software – will unveil her cognitive psychology-based thesis about why coaching programs aren’t working as well as they could, and how to resolve that so all of our clients get far better results.
Tad Hargrave – founder of Marketing for Hippies – will dissect the benefits of the Pay What You Can model of pricing (and fire up a debate we’ll have about pricing, how to and why to, in general…call it a thinking laboratory if you will.)
Not to mention these other leading lights… Michael Bungay Stanier, Michael Port, Jesh de Rox, Lela Lee, Tad Hargraves, Jeremie Miller, Indrani Goradia and of course, yours truly, who will also teach level-headed goodness of value to business owners who are looking for a bowl of something different. Oh, I am so looking forward to the sips!
Whether or not you choose to attend this particular gathering – in-person or virtually I urge you…
Please, take a few sips from your heart of something good, just for a few minutes, right now. It’s essential that you do. We need you to. As your coach-by-proxy-via-email in this moment…I’m asking you to!
